The Atlas Mountains change dramatically with the seasons. Choose your timing depending on whether you want hiking, greenery, comfortable temperatures or snow-covered landscapes.

MAR — MAY

Spring

One of the most rewarding seasons for exploring the mountains. Temperatures are generally comfortable and valleys begin to turn green.

JUN — AUG

Summer

Higher elevations can offer a welcome escape from Morocco's hotter cities. Early mornings are ideal for longer hikes.

SEP — NOV

Autumn

Another excellent period for hiking and exploring mountain villages, with cooler temperatures and changing landscapes.

DEC — FEB

Winter

Higher peaks can be covered in snow, creating a completely different atmosphere for experienced hikers and mountain travelers.

Temperatures can change quickly in the mountains, especially between valleys, higher elevations and evenings.
